GLORY IN WEAKNESS / CHRIST’S POWER IN ME

What is the Power of Christ?

Have you ever felt powerless and clueless and had no idea what to do about a situation?

Our whole life we were told to just figure things out, do something, even if it’s wrong, or do the first thing that comes to your mind. We tend to react and take things into our own hands rather than turn to God first.

There are situations in life when we do know what to do. I do not have to pray about what flavor of gum to buy, for example. And in many cases, God’s Word is absolutely clear what the choices are, and what I should choose. There are always forks in the road, and if we know God’s Word, it is evident what our choice should be.

In our world it is a bad thing to have a weakness or have to depend on someone else for anything. But when you are out of options, and you find yourself, powerless and clueless, this, for the Christian, is actually the place of power.

The apostle Paul was given what he calls a thorn in the flesh. In 2Corinthians 12: 1-10, we read the following: But the Lord said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christs’ power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ sake, I delight in weakness, and insults, and hardships, and persecution, and difficulties. For when I am weak, I am strong.

You see, when we turn to the Lord and admit our weakness and inability to know what to do, and ask Him for help, He can, and will intervene on our behalf. So, if you are struggling to figure out life, stop and worship, and commit your way to the Lord and trust Him. He will make a way that you will never have thought of.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

Follow Him and have a great day.
